Specialized (restricted) Transduction At Biology Glossary

What is it? The situation in which a particular phage will transduce only specific regions of the bacterial chromosome. Form of transduction based on faulty looping out by a temperate phage. Only loci neighbouring the attachment site can be transduced. See generalized transduction.
