Petite At Biology Glossary

What is it? A yeast mutation producing small colonies and altered mitochondrial functions. In cytoplasmic (neutral and suppressive) petites the mutation is a deletion in mitochondrial DNA, while in segregational petites the mutation occurs in nuclear DNA.
